Reviewed in the United States on November 20, 2020 Design: Course 1 Verified Purchase I took the Wilton Cake Decorating course through the mail many, many years ago. I loved it then and still do. This course is great for beginning cake decorators. Before you know it, you'll be decorating like a professional! I recommend the Wilton course to anyone interested in cake decorating. ~Suzanne McClendon Reviewed in the United States on July 2, 2019 Design: Course 1 Verified Purchase Was disappointed to see that this is a lesson guide to an on-line or in-person class that uses a specific Wilton kit. There was no mention of the kit in the description. I wanted this for my niece who is just learning to decorate. I bought another wonderful book with multitudes of fabulous pictures, which was so much better. Was also amazed at the low quality of the roses they were demonstrating for the students to learn - there are better roses out there people! Would not recommend this book to anyone. Reviewed in the United States on September 29, 2016 Design: Course 1 Verified Purchase The book is okay. It is largely a list of what tips do what when applied with the proper pressure and direction. If you have basic knowledge of buttercream, you may be better off getting the tip chart that WIlton has. If you're new to buttercream, then you will learn a few nice things in the book. Reviewed in the United States on October 31, 2019 Design: Course 1 Verified Purchase Great pictures, awesome tips and hints from bakers everywhere. I will refer to this quite frequently. Great for new or rusty baker. Reviewed in the United States on December 11, 2020 Design: Course 1 Verified Purchase I do like the book. There are 39 pages and some good techniques covered. I just thought it was a real book. My mistake for not reading enough I suppose. This is more like a booklet, magazine size and thickness. 4.0 out of 5 stars Good book, just thought it would be thicker. I do like the book. There are 39 pages and some good techniques covered. Images in this review Reviewed in the United States on February 24, 2020 Design: Course 1 Verified Purchase I like the idea of large size booklet/magazine. This gives me bigger size pictures to see more detail. I also like to highlight important information for easier learning. I would of liked this educational magazine as a hardcover book. I am worried the pages, especially front and back covers will tear. I believe I will have to find a way to strengthen them. Reviewed in the United States on January 3, 2019 Design: Course 1 Verified Purchase I really thought this would be booklet like buts it's more like a cheap magazine. After using it once and getting some frosting on it it really didn't last long Reviewed in the United States on April 5, 2021 Design: Course 1 Verified Purchase I had taken Wilton courses years ago, and lost my books in a move. This was a great review, and just what I needed to get back into cake decorating Reviews with images

I have just started using buttercream icing for decorating and am finding quite expensive to make. I bought margarine and bulk icing sugar for practice. I like the book but think the classes would be worthwhile.
